Gouett with the intention of a good escape book to read chapter by chapter as a reward at the end of the day. I ended up dumping out puzzles and a movie in front of my kids and hiding in the closet with a bit of chocolate to get to the end. Responsible? No. Fun? Yes.

Loved that the characters were fleshed out enough to make the story interesting. Loved that Jade could be put together in public and as clutzy as the rest of us behind closed doors. Loved that Jade had to handle herself in the end. Would have been so easy to get rescued but she showed she was a girl who could keep cool in a bad situation. Loved the personal assistant. He had me cracking up every time he came on the scene. Would really like to see this author write another book where we can hear more about Derrick's and Tyson's past and see who, in the end, wins out!

When I first started this book, I was surprised by the superglue incident, and thus enthralled I kept reading. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I could not put it down. Very good read, and I highly suggest anyone looking for a good laugh, and a fun time, buy this book.
I keep two books going at a time and rotate as my interest dictates. This book kept me reading far past reading for a few minutes to unwind into what could she possibly do next? Very hard to put down. Thank you for the suspense and laughter! I can't wait for the next book!

Awesome writing as well as colorful characters..hope there is another book that follows this one!!
I sat down with a few minutes to spare and immediately related to Jade. What a fun read and a great way to spend an afternoon, My imagination created each of the characters and I so enjoyed seeing how she could pull herself together and be at the top of her game at work and laughed as she had so many unpredictable things happen in her off time. My few minutes of spare time turned into an afternoon of reading and imagining. This was a fun read for me and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Thanks Laurie for sharing a part of yourself with your readers.
I'm suprised no one has mentioned the dozens of mistakes in the book -- missing punctuation, missing words, misused words, compound words spelled as two words, wrong tense, misspellings, etc. The worst was randomly switching from third person point of view to first person and even second person. The sheer variety of errors was amazing.
Despite that, I eventually finished the book, partly because the story was entertaining. However, it also became a game for me to see how many errors I could find, like a verbal but very easy version of "Where's Waldo?"
Good premise for a story, but needs to be edited by someone who knows what they are doing. I also find it highly improbable that so many brutal murders in the middle of a busy office could take place unnoticed/unseen in the middle of a work day. Just doesn't fly. I finished it against my better judgement just to see how the author brought it all together. Glad it was free.
First off....errors galore. I had a hard time reading through it because there were so many grammatical mistakes! Seriously, get a new editor.
Beyond that, I wasn't heavily drawn into this to be honest. It lacked tenderness and emotion for a romance novel. I found Slatter to be a chauvinist and Jade didn't help things. She became a push-over with their "relationship." I mean to each his own; I just didn't think this book was all that good. I couldn't finish it.
