This book kept me on the edge of my seat! There were some passages which were pretty dark and scary but I couldn't put it down. Jake is such a believable character and it's easy to see how he could manipulate adults at such a young age. I hope there'll be a sequel...I really want to find out what happens next!

Well written. Maintained my interest throughout. Difficult to put down.
Could not put this book down! I am telling everyone that this book is a must read!
I don't understand the other reviewers of this book. Perhaps they do not have the expectations that I have from a novel. Yes it is dark and unnerving, written from the first person perspective of a psychotic killer. But the writing is horrible, in my opinion. The vocabulary is very weak and there is no flow. It's not a novel but a series of sentences. I did this. Then I did this. Then I got mad. So I did this. And there is no suspense - you can predict pretty much every thing that happens. Not much of a challenge I don't think I will finish it.
A truly unique, well-written, and gripping story. The book pulls you directly into Jake's disturbed mind, and you watch as he manipulates the world around him. Filled with Dark humor and plot twists. Every time you think you've got a hold on things the book throws you for a loop. I couldn't put it down!

It is disturbing how easy it is to empathize with his emotional up's and down's despite his gruesome actions. The fast pace, shocking story line, and the author's use of comic relief at just the right moments keeps you from ever wanting to put it down.
I loved this book! I literally could not stop reading this book! It keeps you engaged wanting to know happens next. It really takes you into the mindset of a disturbing main character through various stages in his life. You start to empathize with the main character and relate to his anger while also disapproving of his mindset and actions. It really is shocking one chapter after the next. I highly recommend this book!
